AYA with cancer experience a significant impact on physical activity levels and quality of life. AYA are less physically active than non-diagnosed siblings or peers and report an unmet need for information about exercise and physical activity during treatment and beyond. Exercise is particularly important given the adverse late effects experienced by AYA that including early heart disease, diabetes, and obesity, not to mention the benefits on mood, countering fatigue, improving strength and stamina, and even improved tolerance of therapy.
