Survivorship programs at Mays Cancer Center

Our survivorship programs provide clinical care tailored to your needs at the Mays Cancer Center. We also offer special programs for younger people with cancer: 

• Adolescent and Young Adult Cancer Survivorship Program
• Childhood Cancer Survivorship Program

You also need to establish care with a personal primary care physician. They help you manage health concerns and coordinate care in partnership with the survivorship team. If you need a primary care physician, visit UT Health San Antonio Primary Care. 

Managing symptoms and side effects from cancer and cancer treatment 

You may experience many different types of symptoms following cancer treatment. Learn about the possible physical effects of cancer, the social and emotional impacts of cancer and how supportive care at the Mays Cancer Center can help cancer survivors.

Supportive care services at the Mays Cancer Center

Clinicians at the Mays Cancer Center provide supportive care services to help you address the physical, social and emotional impacts of cancer. These services include: 

• Cardio-Oncology services to lower your risk of heart disease
• Dental care specifically tailored for cancer survivors
  • Restorative services
  • Surgery services
• Diet and nutrition counseling
• Emotional support, help form social workers, and other mental health supports
• Rehabilitation and physical therapy services
• Symptom Management

Other support for cancer survivors
