Nourish: Ragu pizza
Tracy De Leon, MDS, LD, RD, walked us through this delicious ragu pizza from our Nourish Series. This dish is perfect for someone looking to include protein and fiber in their diet. For anyone, it is essential to have good nutrition, including eating meals that contain protein. Protein helps us maintain muscle mass, heal tissues and support our immune system. Here's what you'll need:
- 1/3 29oz can plain tomato puree (no salt or sugar added)
- 1 tsp oregano, fresh or dry
- 1/3 small onion, chopped
- 1 small carrot, chopped
- 1 small celery stalk, chopped
- 1/3 bay leaf
- Pinch of ground black pepper
- 2 cups frozen spinach, thawed
- 2/3 lb ground beef
- 8 tbsp non-fat mozzarella, grated
