About Zao Yang, MD
Zao Mike Yang, MD, is an associate professor in the Department of Otolaryngology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and director of the UT Health San Antonio Voice Center. He also holds the Brian N. Sheth Distinguished Chair for Voice and Airway Disorders. Dr. Yang leads a specialized team dedicated to caring for patients with complex voice, breathing, and swallowing disorders, providing advanced care across San Antonio and South Texas.
Dr. Yang earned his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed specialty training at Louisiana State University, followed by advanced fellowship training in voice and airway disorders.
Dr. Yang treats a wide range of throat conditions, with particular expertise in precancerous lesions, early-stage vocal cord cancers and swallowing disorders in patients who have previously undergone treatment for head and neck cancer. In addition to his clinical work, he is an active researcher and author who regularly presents his work at national medical conferences to help advance patient care nationwide.
