About Roberto Martinez, MD
Roberto Martinez, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in breast cancer reconstruction, emphasizing microsurgery and robotics. Dr. Martinez has clinical expertise in various areas, including reconstructive breast surgery, lymphatic surgery (preventative and therapeutic surgery) and minimally invasive robotic flap reconstruction. He is the only plastic surgeon in San Antonio offering robotic flap reconstruction.
Dr. Martinez is an assistant professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. In 2011, he graduated with his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Martinez completed his first clinical residency in general surgery from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and his second residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. He then completed his fellowship training in hand, upper extremity and microsurgery at The Hand & Upper Extremity Center of San Antonio. In addition, he finished a research fellowship In the Department of Plastic Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Originally from a border town in Texas, Dr. Martinez is fluent in Spanish and has a particular interest in providing care for our underserved population here in San Antonio.Gender
