About Randy Wright, M.D.
Randy Wright, MD, is an associate professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Human Nutrition at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions of the digestive system.
Dr. Wright graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served in the U.S. Navy before completing medical school, an internal medicine residency, and a gastroenterology fellowship at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
He provides care for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and offers procedures such as upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, including colon cancer screening and polyp removal, balloon-assisted small bowel enteroscopy and capsule endoscopy. Dr. Wright also has expertise in managing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and diseases of the liver, esophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Wright trains future gastroenterologists and is part of the Mays Cancer Center High Risk Cancer Genetics Screening Team.
