    About Preetesh Jain, MBBS, MD, DM, PhD

    Preetesh Jain, MBBS, MD, DM, PhD, is an associate professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at The University of Texas at San Antonio. He specializes in lymphoma, with a focus on mantle cell lymphoma, at Mays Cancer Center.

    He completed his initial training in general medicine and medical oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital in India, followed by additional clinical training in the United States. Dr. Jain also holds a PhD in molecular medicine from the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research in Manhasset, New York, where he specialized in chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Since 2012, he has pursued advanced training at The University of Texas and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. As a clinical investigator and translational researcher, he focuses on mantle cell lymphoma and works closely with Michael Wang, MD.

    Dr. Jain is actively involved in designing next-generation clinical trials for patients with mantle cell lymphoma, incorporating novel agents and CAR T-cell therapy. His research interests include clinicopathologic studies to identify novel biomarkers, investigation of tumor microenvironment heterogeneity and cytokine and chemokine signaling, and analysis of resistance patterns, clonal evolution and genomic profiles in high-risk disease. His work also examines resistance mechanisms to CAR T-cell therapy, bispecific antibodies and pirtobrutinib.

    He has received multiple awards for his research in lymphoma and leukemia and has been an invited speaker at national and international conferences. In 2023, he received a Career Development Award from the Lymphoma Research Foundation. He serves as a reviewer for numerous journals and has authored many peer-reviewed publications in journals including Blood, Blood Advances, The Lancet Oncology, The Lancet Hematology, Clinical Cancer Research, Journal of Clinical Oncology, American Journal of Hematology, and British Journal of Hematology. He is the principal investigator for the phase III randomized MANGROVE study in mantle cell lymphoma at MD Anderson. His work has been widely cited, with an H-index of 40.
