About Miruna Hanzu, MSN, AGACNP-BC
Miruna Hanzu, MSN, ACNPC-AG, is an acute care adult-gerontology nurse practitioner in the Division of Hematology-Oncology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She treats complex hematologic and oncologic conditions in the Stem Cell and Cellular Therapy Program at Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Hanzu began her nursing career in 2020, caring for surgical oncology patients at Michigan Medicine. After a year, she transitioned to the hematology-oncology and bone marrow transplant unit, where she developed a strong interest in caring for individuals with blood cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma.
In 2024, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Michigan, specializing in adult-gerontology acute care. Driven by her passion for oncology and complex inpatient care, she joined the Mays Cancer Center at UT Health San Antonio in 2025, where she continues to care for patients with advanced hematologic and oncologic conditions.
