Leyla Bojanini, MD

Leyla Bojanini, MD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She is a hematologist-oncologist specializing in blood cancers, particularly lymphomas, at Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Bojanini earned her medical degree from Universidad CES Escuela de Medicina in Medellin, Colombia. After graduating, she moved to the U.S. and worked in hematology clinical trials at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. She completed her internal medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Florida and fellowship training in hematology-oncology at Stanford University.

Her research interests include identifying barriers to clinical trial recruitment, particularly among minority patients. She also focuses on the clinicopathologic characteristics, risk factors, treatment response, and prognosis of rare lymphomas, including various types of T-cell lymphomas.
