Jeslina Raj, PsyD, is an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. Raj is a licensed psychologist providing comprehensive therapy, patient readiness for surgery evaluations, and consultations with oncologists and surgeons at the Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center. She provides cognitive behavior therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy to patients diagnosed with cancer.
Raj has established behavioral health clinics at UT Health Physicians Medical Drive and Westover Hills primary care locations. In these primary care clinics, she provides solution-focused, evidence-based care while consulting with primary care providers. She is the first psychologist to be fully embedded within the University Health Transplant Center, providing extensive clinical services and evaluations for patients in the hospital and in the outpatient setting. She is the director of psychological services at the transplant center, acting as a liaison between the Department of Psychiatry and the center.
She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky and completed her clinical psychology residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. Raj completed her post-doctoral fellowship at Texas A&M University School of Medicine.
