About Jazmin Torres, MSN, FNP-C
Jazmin Ann Torres, MSN, FNP-C, is a bilingual family nurse practitioner in the Division of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Born and raised in Laredo, Texas, she brings more than seven years of experience in emergency medicine, critical care and outpatient specialty settings.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Torres provides culturally competent, patient-centered care to individuals with complex gastrointestinal conditions. She holds both a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M International University.
Before joining UT Health San Antonio, Torres served as a lead nurse practitioner at Texas Healthcare Providers in Laredo. Her decision to pursue a career as a nurse practitioner was driven by her passion for delivering comprehensive care across a broad spectrum of health concerns.
Her interest in gastroenterology is rooted in personal and family experiences with GI-related illnesses. She also has a personal connection to cancer, with four aunts and uncles having undergone treatment for various forms of the disease.
Outside of work, Torres enjoys yoga and Pilates.
