S2302, PRAGMATICA – LUNG - A Prospective Randomized Study of Ramucirumab (LY3009806; NSC 749128) plus Pembrolizumab (MK-3475; NSC 776864) versus Standard of Care for Participants Previously Treated with Immunotherapy for Stage IV or Recurrent Non-Small S2302, PRAGMATICA – LUNG - A Prospective Randomized Study of Ramucirumab (LY3009806; NSC 749128) plus Pembrolizumab (MK-3475; NSC 776864) versus Standard of Care for Participants Previously Treated with Immunotherapy for Stage IV or Recurrent Non-Small This phase III trial compares the effect of the combination of ramucirumab and pembrolizumab versus standard of care chemotherapy for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer that is stage IV or that has come back after a period of improvement (recurrent). Ramucirumab is a monoclonal antibody that may prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. This trial may help doctors find out if giving ramucirumab with pembrolizumab is more effective at treating patients with stage IV or recurrent non-small cell lung cancer than standard chemotherapy.ClinicalTrials.gov registration not requiredSherri Cervantez, MD
A Randomized Phase 3 Study of Datopotamab Deruxtecan (Dato-DXd) and Pembrolizumab, with or Without Platinum Chemotherapy, in Subjects with No Prior Therapy for Advanced or Metastatic PD-L1 TPS A Randomized Phase 3 Study of Datopotamab Deruxtecan (Dato-DXd) and Pembrolizumab, with or Without Platinum Chemotherapy, in Subjects with No Prior Therapy for Advanced or Metastatic PD-L1 TPS <50% Non-squamous Non-small Cell Lung Cancer Without ActionablThis study is designed to assess the efficacy and safety of datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd) in combination with pembrolizumab versus pembrolizumab in combination with pemetrexed and platinum chemotherapy in participants with no prior therapy for advanced or metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)ClinicalTrials.gov registration not requiredSherri Cervantez, MD
A Phase 3 Study of Pembrolizumab in Combination With Carboplatin/Taxane (Paclitaxel or Nabpaclitaxel) followed by Pembrolizumab With or Without Maintenance MK-2870 in the First-line Treatment of Metastatic Squamous Nonsmall Cell Lung CancerA Phase 3 Study of Pembrolizumab in Combination With Carboplatin/Taxane (Paclitaxel or Nabpaclitaxel) followed by Pembrolizumab With or Without Maintenance MK-2870 in the First-line Treatment of Metastatic Squamous Nonsmall Cell Lung CancerThis is a phase 3 study of pembrolizumab in combination with carboplatin/taxane (paclitaxel or nab-paclitaxel) followed by pembrolizumab with or without maintenance sacituzumab tirumotecan (sac-TMT; MK-2870) in first-line treatment of metastatic squamous non-small cell lung cancer. It is hypothesized that pembrolizumab with maintenance sacituzumab tirumotecan is superior to pembrolizumab without sacituzumab tirumotecan maintenance with respect to overall survival (OS).ClinicalTrials.gov registration not requiredSherri Cervantez, MD
Metabolic kinetic phenotyping to predict cachexia and health outcomes in response to chemoradiation in patients with Head & Neck CancerMetabolic kinetic phenotyping to predict cachexia and health outcomes in response to chemoradiation in patients with Head & Neck CancerFifteen patients with advanced H&N cancer who will receive chemoradiation therapy as first line treatment will be studied (as weight loss is expected). The cancer patients will be recruited at the UT Health Mays Cancer Center (MCC) in San Antonio with testing to be performed at the Barshop Institute. The cancer group will be compared to 15 control subjects, recruited at CTRAL (Center for Translational Research on Aging and Longevity) in College Station, who are age/sex/BMI matched and with no active or historic cancer diagnosis based on extensive medical screening.ClinicalTrials.gov registration not requiredSherri Cervantez, MD
Phase Ib Clinical Trial of Loncastuximab and Roflumilast Added to R-CHOP (Lo-RR-CHOP) for Treatment Naïve High-Risk Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) Phase Ib Clinical Trial of Loncastuximab and Roflumilast Added to R-CHOP (Lo-RR-CHOP) for Treatment Naïve High-Risk Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) This study is an investigator-initiated, phase I, single arm, open label clinical trial that will enroll subjects with untreated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLCBL) at high risk for poor outcome, defined as an NCCN-IPI score of 2 or higher.NCT06977711Adolfo "Enrique" Diaz Duque, MD, MS
LS0386, Clinical and Epidemiological Studies in Lymphoma (CTMS#18-0162)LS0386, Clinical and Epidemiological Studies in Lymphoma (CTMS#18-0162)The goal of this infrastructure grant is to establish and maintain a cohort of over 12,000 non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) patients to support broad and cutting-edge research that identifies clinical (including co-morbid diseases), epidemiologic (including lifestyle and other exposures), host genetic, tumor, and treatment factors, as well as the interaction among these factors, on short and long-term outcomes. These efforts will identify new approaches to improve the survival and well-being of NHL patients.NCT02736357Adolfo "Enrique" Diaz Duque, MD, MS
S2206, Phase III Trial of Neoadjuvant Durvalumab (NSC 778709) plus Chemotherapy versus Chemotherapy Alone for Adults with MammaPrint High 2 Risk (MP2) Hormone Receptor (HR) Positive / Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (HER2) Negative Stage II-III BreS2206, Phase III Trial of Neoadjuvant Durvalumab (NSC 778709) plus Chemotherapy versus Chemotherapy Alone for Adults with MammaPrint High 2 Risk (MP2) Hormone Receptor (HR) Positive / Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (HER2) Negative Stage II-III BreThis clinical trial aims to validate the results observed in I-SPY2 and will test if adding durvalumab to neoadjuvant chemotherapy can increase pCR rates, shift residual cancer burden to lower values and improve invasive breast cancer free survival in early-stage HRpositive MP2 cancers.ClinicalTrials.gov registration not requiredKate Lathrop M.D.
