New Director of Practice Operations for Clinical Nursing

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Maria Aileen Wilkinson, MSN, MBA, RN, as the new director of practice operations for clinical nursing at the Mays Cancer Center. With a remarkable background in nursing leadership, extensive experience in care coordination, clinic operations, and existing knowledge of the institution, Wilkinson is poised to impact our center significantly.

Wilkinson holds a Master of Science in Nursing Administration and a Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Tyler. She is currently finishing her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the same university. Before joining the cancer center, Wilkinson was the practice manager for the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Divisions of Cardiology and Endocrinology for 10 years. She has been a nurse for more than 25 years.

Wilkinson’s primary goal is to promote excellent patient care experience by improving patient outcomes through evidence-based practice and creating efficiencies through intuitive, need-based technology. We’re excited to have her join our team and confident that her expertise will drive the Cancer Center’s commitment to excellence in patient care and operational efficiency.
