About Caitlin A. McIntyre, MD
Caitlin A. McIntyre, MD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. She is a surgical oncologist specializing in hepato-pancreato-biliary as well as neuroendocrine and endocrine cancers at Mays Cancer Center, home to UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.
She received her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her general surgery internship and residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center and received her fellowship training in complex general surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. During her surgical residency, she completed a two-year research fellowship in hepato-pancreato-biliary cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Her clinical practice focuses on benign and malignant diseases of the pancreas, liver, and gastrointestinal tract, as well as adrenal, thyroid, and neuroendocrine tumors. She also conducts clinical and translational research in hepato-pancreato-biliary neoplasms, focusing on pancreatic cancer and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
She is an active member of several associations including the Society of Surgical Oncology, Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association, International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and the American College of Surgeons.
