We offer hats, turbans and scarves free of charge to patients. Attractive head coverings help patients cope with the side effect of hair loss, which can be traumatic for some patients. Community organizations (The Assistance League, Caps for Caring and various craft clubs) donate these items. The American Cancer Society’s wig program helps patients receive wigs free of charge. We also have a list of local wig shops.
The American Cancer Society sponsors Look Good, Feel Better to help people undergoing cancer treatment learn how to manage with appearance-related side effects and regain a sense of self-confidence.
