We are dedicated to providing an exceptional experience to every patient, every time.
Become a volunteer
Our volunteers have the ability to transform a patient’s life. Volunteering with our cancer center is a remarkable opportunity to influence change and a great way to give back to your community.
Volunteers needed include:
Clinic Volunteer: Assist patients with wayfinding throughout the system, assist in the clinics with patients’ needs (ex. Vendor sign in) (3-4 hrs. weekly)
Patient & Family Services Group Facilitator: Facilitator for activities thought to enhance the patient experience (ex. communication, fitness, music and arts, multicultural clergyman) (1-2 hrs. weekly)
Support Group Facilitator: Assist with or lead disease specific support groups (1-2 hrs. weekly)
How to get involved
Though the process may vary based on your volunteer interests, the typical steps for our volunteers is as follows.
Step 1: Submit an application
Please submit a volunteer application if you are able to commit to volunteering for twelve (12) months and agree to a minimum of six (6) hours per month.
Step 2: Interview
After the volunteer coordinator reviews your application, you will be contacted to arrange an interview at the Cancer Center and may be subject to a background check.
Step 3: TB Testing and Flu Shot
Because cancer patients can have compromised immune systems during their treatment, our volunteers must also meet immunization requirements. You will need to have a flu shot and a negative TB test.
Step 4: Orientation and Training
Our orientation includes information about patient confidentiality and volunteer policies. All volunteers will receive a copy of the Volunteer Rules and Ethics, for which they will be responsible. Training will be provided as needed.
